Privacy Policy

Frame The Night suggests films and series based on your watch history and stated taste. This policy explains exactly what we store and why. The short version: no ads, no trackers, no selling data — ever. We store the minimum needed to make suggestions work, and you can delete all of it at any time.
What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, files, or advertising identifiers. Biometric app-lock (fingerprint / face) is handled entirely by your device's operating system — biometric data never reaches us.
How the AI part works
To generate suggestions, a summary of your taste profile (titles with your reactions, your written preferences, and the local day/time you searched) is sent to our AI processors: MiniMax (primary suggestion model) and Cloudflare Workers AI (fast fallback model). These requests contain your taste data but no direct identifiers such as your name or email. Couple profiles are labelled only “Partner A” and “Partner B”. Title metadata (posters, ratings, trailers) comes from TMDB and OMDb; those lookups contain only movie identifiers or titles, never personal data.
Where data lives
Your data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database operated solely by us and hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare Email Service delivers optional sign-in emails. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). App updates and optional notifications are delivered by Expo's update service; notification content is generated on your device.
Sharing
We never sell personal data. We disclose it only to the service providers listed above as needed to operate the app. If you link a partner, the sharing between your two accounts is the feature itself — described above and reversible by unlinking. Watches recorded together remain in your partner's own history after unlinking, exactly like their other watch history.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data until you delete it. You can delete your entire account and all associated live-service data at any time, in the app: You tab → Delete my account. Cloudflare's encrypted disaster-recovery history may retain a recoverable copy for up to 30 days before expiry; it is not used for normal product access. Details: account deletion.
Children
Frame The Night is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app before the change takes effect.
